Success in one area is transferable. If someone has done something extraordinary in one area we can learn from this and apply it to our own lives. Mikael Asp has done something really cool. For some time he had the world record in one discipline in free diving. He competed in something called speed-endurance apnoea. Rules are simple – swim 16 times under water for 50 meters and do it as quick as possible. The time you breathe in between the swimming is included in the total time. Pretty extreme. I went walking and talking with Mikael Asp to hear his story on how he broke the world record, how he later applied breathing exercises to triathlons and ways that you as a listener can improve your performance. Fascinating discussion.
